Tyson Radley O’Connell was raised in Marysville, Montana, and graduated from Capital High School in 1998. He received a bachelor’s degree with a double major in economics and sociology from Macalester College in 2002. Between college and law school Tyson worked as a fly fishing guide in Alaska and traveled extensively as an outdoor writer and photographer. He also directed a film, River Poets, that was featured in the 2008 Fly Fishing Film Tour.
 
Tyson graduated with honors from the University of Montana School of Law in 2009. While at law school, Tyson served as the Managing Editor of the Montana Law Review and completed a clinical internship for United States District Court Judge Donald W. Molloy. In the Winter 2008 Montana Law Review, Tyson published an article on Constitutional law entitled, “How Did the Ten Commandments End up on Both Sides of the Wall of Separation between Church and State?”
 
Tyson joined Garlington, Lohn & Robinson as a law clerk in 2007 and as an attorney in 2009. His practice focuses on commercial and environmental litigation, as well as products liability and water law. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Montana. Tyson is married to Janna Lundquist who is a deposit relationship officer at First Security Bank of Missoula.
