Malin Stearns Johnson
Malin Stearns Johnson is a Missoula native and graduate of Sentinel High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in education from the University of Notre Dame. Between college and law school, Malin taught middle school language arts in Charleston, South Carolina for two years through Notre Dame and Americorp’s volunteer teaching program, the Alliance for Catholic Education.
Malin is a high honors graduate of the University of Montana School of Law, where she served as Co-Editor in Chief of the Montana Law Review and competed with the School of Law’s Negotiation Team, placing second at the American Bar Association’s National Law Student Negotiation Competition and representing the United States at the International Law Student Negotiation Competition.
Before coming to work for Garlington, Lohn & Robinson, Malin served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sidney R. Thomas of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She maintains a litigation and consulting practice with a focus on labor and employment issues and health care law. Malin was recognized as a “Rising Star” in the 2009 edition of Mountain States Super Lawyers.
Malin is married to C.J. Johnson, also an attorney, and is the proud mother of a young daughter.
