Gregory L. Hanson
Greg graduated from the University of Montana in 1968, receiving a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with high honors. After successfully passing the test to become a Certified Public Accountant, he entered the University of Montana Law School, receiving his Juris Doctor degree with honors in 1971. While in law school, Greg served on the Montana Law Review.
After graduation, he served as a commissioned officer in the U. S. Air Force for a year and a half, returning to Missoula to work for Garlington, Lohn & Robinson in the fall of 1972. Greg became a partner in the firm in 1980. His practice has been primarily in the estate planning, probate, taxation, real estate and business areas. He enjoys an "AV" rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is included in the publication “The Best Lawyers in America.”
Greg has served on numerous boards of non-profit organizations over the years, and served for over twenty years as Counsel to the University of Montana Foundation. He also served a term as a member of the local school board, and served several terms as a member and as Chairman of the Montana Facilities Financing Authority, which is the bonding authority for health care institutions in the state.
Greg has spoken at the University of Montana's Tax Institute and at the Montana Certified Public Accountant's convention. He has also been a presenter at other professional education seminars, speaking primarily on the topics of estate planning or real estate. He has also lectured for several years in the Citizen's Law School.
Greg and his wife H.J. have two adult children.
